Hi, my Norton System works is due for renewal. I can either just renew for a year or I can upgrade. Do I need to upgrade or will it be fine just to renew, presumably I will be protected either way.
Thanks for any advice. Lorna. :)

    Hi Lorna,

I have Norton Internet Security 2001 on my PC and have just been renewing the tables each year which has worked fine. I recently had a small problem and when I tried to get some help from Norton I was told they didn't support 2001 any more - so their product support is somewhat short term. I think the annual cost of subscription for the virus tables is approaching the cost of upgrading - which usually comes with 1 year virus tables - so it is kind of a wash.

I use AVG (free) and Zone Alarm (free) on my laptop and so far that has worked well but I don't spend a lot of time on the internet with the laptop. Many of the folks on this board use those two and are well satisfied.

Thanks for the reply, I'll just renew for now then. Mine is the 2003 edition so it shouldn't be too old yet!
