    Making a check under Windows 7 64 bit, Start> search programs>
type *.rss> Enter. A display of 97 file.rss are shown.
These files apparently relate to Live Mail, and content is of no
    interest to me.
At present, I require to delete each rss file individually.
Is there a quicker method of deleting rss files in "block ", or better
still disallow downloading them in the first place. Thank you.

    Try this ....

Bulk Delete RSS Feeds in IE8

    Turn off RSS feeds ....

Tools > Internet Options > Content > Feeds and Web Slices - Settings and uncheck 'Automatically check feeds .....'

Hello PeteC, thank you for detailed list, appreciated.
I carried out instructions, unticking appropriate boxes.
I will have to await, if next batch of RSS files are not
    shown.
Previously, the RSS files could be deleted in Windows
Live Mail but not shown in Recycle Bin. It required that
I click the Start icon> In search file> type RSS> and all
files were detailed. Using the Shft key and clicking each
file in turn, deleted and sent to Recycle Bin. However
high lighting the first and last file using Shft key did not
work as this caused the first file to show again in the
    Windows Live Mail.
Using the individual file delete, only displayed in part
number in the Recycle Bin i.e. total 67 files only 6 in
Recycle Bin, though all files were erased in the Start
    window.
Will your method of not allowing RSS files in Windows
Live Mail stop display in Start> In search files window?
    Regards.

I really have no idea - I use neither Live Mail nor Feeds.

The method of turning off RSS feeds was the only one I could find on the net.
