Linksys WRT54GX v2 as wireless range extender

    Just wondering if i can use a Linksys WRT54GX v2 as a wireless range extender/repeater. i went to www.dd-wrt.com and they say that the WRT54GX is "not possible" but i dont know if the dd-wrt firmware is what i need..

    thanks for any help you throw my way..

    dd-wrt firmware will not work on that particular Linksys router.

    so I'm sh!t out of luck with this router? if so is there any router that u do recommend that is cheap and effective

    Search for wrt65g abd see which models are supported.

    Or just get an access point (no router). Most stand alone access points can be used as repeaters. Or you can run a wire to the access point which is located up to several hundred feet away.
