Linksys Router

    I was looking for an update to see why my linksys router was not working properly, the signal strengh will continue to change and then fade out requiring me to repair the signal constantly. What is firmware? i need to know if i should install this on the computer that has the wireless network adapter or the one that is transmitting the signal, so again, what does firmware mean?

    or put more simply ...

    Similar to, but not exactly the same as, the BIOS on a motherboard.

    Firmware is more commomly found in items like modems, routers, scanners, optical drives (CD-ROM, DVD-ROM drives), digital cameras, etc.

    The firmware to which you refer specifically is for your router and would be installed via the host computer. Full instructions for installation should be given on the Linksys website.
