    Please help me out.

2 computers: Vista and XP Pro.
Vista is the one connected to the internet. XP is not.
i tried unplugging the cable for internet connection and plugged it in to the XP.

when i tried to open IE and went to any website, all pictures are not showing up and links are not working it shows circle and line thru it.
i just realized just now IE is version 6.

if i will update the IE will it resolve the problem? what if not?
    can you help me, please?
or can you give me ideas how to configure the internet connection bec it was originally connected to vista?

Thanks in advance, sirs and ma'ams.

You don't say how you are connected to the Internet - if it is via a router simply plugging the cable in should be sufficient.

If, as I suspect, you are using a modem follow the Internet Connection Wizard under Control Panel > Network Connections (terminology may be different in IE 6 - I am running IE 8).
