I am having a problem opening links in my online newsletters. This does not happen in web pages. I can save the links and some will open. Haven't downloaded anything or made any changes lately. Ran a virus scan and all is clean. I have searched BBS and google but have found no info. Any help would be great. Thanks................Mike

If you're referring to links in newsletters that are emailed to you and if you're using Outlook Express for your email, try the following, making sure Outlook Express is closed:
    1. Cllick on Start and then on Run
    2. In the Run box, type the first command exactly as it appears in the list below, click the OK button. If you get a message that it was successful; click its OK button.
    3. Open Outlook Express and see if links then work. If they do, you're done.
    4. If they don't, close OE and run the second command.
    5. Work your way through the list. When the links start working again, you don't have to run any remaining commands.

    iexplore /rereg
    regsvr32 Urlmon.dll
    regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
    regsvr32 Shell32.dll
    regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
    regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
    regsvr32 Mshtml.dll

If that doesn't fix the problem:
    1. Go to My Computer, View, Folder Options, File Types
2.Scroll down to the URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocols, click the Advanced button
    3. Click the Edit button
    4. Make sure the following is in the "Application used to perform action" box - make sure that it is entered exactly as it appears below, including all quote marks and spaces:
    "C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe" -nohome

    5. Check the rest of the settings:

DDE should be set to: "%1 ",,-1,0,,,,
    Application should say: IExplore
DDE application not running should be blank
    Topic should be: WWW_OpenURL

    5. When all that's checked and any changes needed are made, click OK and OK again to get back to the File Types list
    5. Find "URL:Gopher Protocol" in the File Types list and do the same as above

    Links will not open

Thank you so much Miz. From what I could see, it had something to do with my Firefox browser. Anyway, I am up and running again. I really appreciate the help that I recieve from the boards. Hopefully I will gain enough knowledge to help others someday. Thanks again...........Mike
