    Hi,

I am working with three Excel sheets: Sheet 1 contains all the tasks to be performed in a project, and the dates when they need to be ready. Sheets 2 and 3 are the same tasks and dates as in Sheet 1, but separated on the two workers who will perform the different tasks. Sheet 1 is the main sheet, so if there are changes to the project, these are recorded here (eg postponing the deadline for a task). For the tasks and dates in Sheets 2 and 3 I have used links to Sheet 1. Problem is that the links are to a cell and not a value. If I change a deadline in Sheet 1 and then sort the tasks on deadline, worker #1 gets tasks supposed to be performed by worker #2 and vice versa. Is there any way I can link to a value so that the tasks don’t change in Sheets 2 and 3 when I sort the rows in Sheet 1?

    Grateful for help!!

The easy out would be to create an additional sheet or else create a reserved section of the existing source sheet and have that be a copy of the original. Then you can sort the new sheet as you wish without changing the original sheet or entries and avoid disturbing any link references.
