    Hi!

Not sure what I've done, or how I've done it but I seem to have highly annoyed IE7 or something...

I have done the whole reset internet options thing, suggested in previous threads - which did resolve one issue (being unable to open IE from the start menu) - but it's done nothing for my second issue..

Basically nothing happens when I click on a link. I thought to download Firefox, but the link doesn't even show up on the page. (It's not that pop-up's are blocked, as I've reset IE. I am not even getting a link to click on.)

A found a previous thread, someone having similar issues - unable to click on certain links - I followed all the suggestions, none of which worked for me .

Even as I type this thread, I am unable to change the font or click on any of the options.

Another thing (I'm just letting it all out :)) Google mail will only open in basic HTML, when I try to switch to standard view, it just doesn't load.

Sta-raaaange... any ideas. I'm sure this is easy to fix, I'm just not winning so far :)

Hi Nicsdxb, Welcome to Windowsbbs! Try this. Click Start< Run, type the following commands and press enter after each command.

    1. regsvr32 urlmon.dll
    2. regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
    3. regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
    4. regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
    5. regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
    6. regsvr32 Browseui.dll
    7. regsvr32 Shell32.dll

Make sure all browser windows are closed.

Additionally as a cautionary step, download and run ATF Cleaner, http://majorgeeks.com/ATF_Cleaner_d4949.html Have it delete everything thats selected. See if you can click links using Internet Explorer now. :)

Hi there - thanks for your suggestions..

Evan - I tried yours first and got this error msg "The module "Shdocvw.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "Shdocvw.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again." -I tried running all the commands and it happened for a few of them. Any more ideas?

Pete - Neither of those links are relevant - as I am not having those issues. But thanks anyway :)

Any new idea's? Or should I take it to an expert?

This can sometimes mean that the .dll file may be corrupted.

Start by running System File Checker.

After running SFC, see if that solves your problem.

An who would that be? Your computer manufacturer? They'll just tell you to reload the factory "restore" CD.

Speaking of a restore, if it hasn't been to long ago that this started have you considered a system restore?
