Line spacing in Outlook messages

I have a problem with line spacing in some Outlook messages.

Some messages I send loko OK on my screen, but at the recipient the lines appear to be double-spaced.

And, on some messages, when I press "Reply" my own type is then double-spaced (ie, when I hit "return" it moves down 2 lines). On some messages this does not occur.

I never got this problem using Outlook Express. I am now using Outlook 2003. I use a signature, but not stationary.

Can anyone help me solve this?
