l suggest trying to get into safe mode, then reset the virtual [page] file to where you want it. Like I said a suggestion.

Not positive this will work but I would certainly try running fixboot from the Recovery Console.

If that doesn't work there is another thing that might. Again from the recovery console, blow away the existing pagefile and your OS should create a new one when you reboot sized based on the values you have set (so back to the size before your problem started). As follows:

It is possible that the partitioning work you did created a new, very tiny pagefile in a location other than the normal location. If so, your PC may be using it. So first thing to try is getting rid of one if it exists. Problem is, you probably won't be able to see it from the recovery console most times but you can get rid of it - although not quite directly. Location is probably c:\winnt (or wherever you have your OS loaded). If not, just use yours wherever I put in c:\winnt.

From the recovery console command line

    1. cd c:\winnt
    2. copy c:\config.sys killit.txt
(note - nothing magic about any file names but config.sys should be in root and very small so good to use)
    3. copy killit.txt pagefile.sys
(note: oddly enough, while you can't mess with pagefile.sys, you can overwrite it)
    4. delete killit.txt
    5. exit (which will reboot your PC).

If this works, you are done. If not, back to the recovery console and do the same process but in c:\ where you will be getting rid of the normal system pagefile.

You are right about the partitions. This probably caused the problems. About safe mode. forget it, doesn't work in this situation. It booted up ok until the music then nothing.. I did put Partition magic back in to look at the partitions again. I have 2 HDD in this machine. 1 HD was unallocated, so I started creating some logical partitions.
I am going to try and and do as u suggest. Will let you know. Thanks all

I have other ??? but I will address them in a new post

    thanks

If you get as far as the music, I'm not hopeful that fixboot will solve the problem but it's certainly the simplest, safest thing to try first. If not, blitzing the pagefile(s) probably will take care of it.

What means "blitzing the pagefile ". If this doesn't work I will probably have to start over. It's a pain, but I guess its good e4xperience for me.

    Thanks

I meant to destroy the pagefile or pagefiles using the instructions above.

As noted there, if you destroy a bad pagefile, your system should create a new and good one when you reboot.
