    Certainly - get a dial-up connection.

Easier to offer reasonable suggestions if you give an idea what you are trying to do.

All I want to do is slow down my upload speed for example.

I can upload at 60 KB/s and I want to lower it to 20KB/s. Or something like that.

    diddo for download.

No real reason for wanting to do this, just want to know if I can.

And no a dial-up is not an option.

No way that I am aware of - at least no clean way that wouldn't stand a good chance of messing stuff up.

There are some settings that would make your system choke a lot and retry a lot that would probably slow things down but it wouldn't be pretty.

What are you asking about is 'bandwidth throttling'. I believe there isn't too much about it in Windows systems, maybe IIS has some capability.

But for complete control over bandwidth allocation by IP and MAC address's, or even by the port number. Theres only one word...LINUX.

I figured as much, but I think I may be in luck since I use a FreeSco box as my router in the house. So I'm going to look into that.
