I first acquired Lightroom 2 earlier this year. No joy so, on advice, I added RAM (now have 2 Gig). All appeared to be OK.

Recently I find that I can use the Library and Print modules, but the Develop and Slideshow just won't open. Everything hangs and then the program says not responding and I have to end task. This applies even if I use a new catalog with just a couple of photos.

The only new thing I can think of is having added XP SP3. I use Windows XP Home on an Acer T180 desktop. I have Panda antivirus and that did not cause problems earlier when things were working.

    Any help much appreciated.

Martin - Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Not sure how much advice you will get here on Lightroom - I use CS4 extensively, but have never used Lightroom.

Have you considered a complete uninstall/reinstall?

You may find others with the same problem on the Adobe Lightroom forum .....

I'm sure this overlaps previous but I can't find an obvious parallel.

I'm having specific trouble with Lightroom 2 which hangs. On using Task Manager to shut it down I see that CPU usage is at 50%. There appear to be 2 versions running. There are 67 other processes going on.

I'm not keen on mucking around with the processes as I have no idea which are needed and which aren't. There are a number that have me as a user but I know nothing about them.

I'm running XP home with SP3. I have 2GB RAM.

    Any help much appreciated.

I'll delete my other posting on software.
