I am a 70+ lady who raises some animals and helps "hubbie" with his projects and business. I am in need of learning some new things for his business, in my search for some answers I located your site so here I am.

We live on a ranch near the Columbia River Gorge, where we go to watch the windsurfers and other younger people enjoying themselves on the river.

We were retired but had to foreclose on a business property we own & husband was tired of being retired so he now has a big play pen which makes more work for me; but I've been told that is what keeps us older folks young; wish my bones & joints believed that.

    Welcome to our forum!

Wow.. small world. I've had a friend who owned a place in Rowena. So I've stayed there for all in all quite some months between 2001-2008.

    I loved that place!

Hi, and Welcome to WindowsBBS. :) You'll find there are quite a number of us with your same problem - over 70 - retired - doing something different and enjoying it as long as the body let's us. ;) Neil.

Welcome to the forum, bbaehm. :)

I've always been enamored with the diverse geography in Washington state, although I've never been past the Mississippi river myself. There was an interesting documentary on TV about a place in Washington called Dry Falls, and geologists claimed it was the biggest water fall in the world at one time.

We made it as far eastward as Missouri...didn't take us long to decide we wanted to go back to the West Coast area. We didn't like the humidity, bugs, tornados, snakes etc. we decided that area was Pandora's box.

My brother in law asked me if I was ever in a tornado. My reply was: The only time I want to see a tornado or a great white shark are on a television.

    Ugh.

You said the H word. (Humidity)

Feels pretty good around here, now, but that usually changes in late spring to early summer. I live near the foothills, so the dewpoints are not quite as high as they are in the lowlands, but it can be oppressive around here during dog days.

James: I live on an island let me tell you the last 21yrs have not been fun. Not only the humidity, but the barometric pressure are murder on my neck.
