I have been experiencing the problem described in this site:

    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Serie...o-some-T-X-R-models-and-batteries/td-p/147118

I just want to know if there is anything I can do to bring my battery back other than shelling out $100 dollars for a new battery. My computer is only 2 years old. The battery showed no signs of decline until it does not work completely. Computer won't turn on if not connected to A/C power supply and will immediately force shut off if I disconnect the power supply.

If push comes to shove, can anyone recommend a good place to get a cheap, quality battery? Right now I have an 8-cell battery that would last me about 3.5-4 hours on a single charge.
    Thanks,

    Fernando

I work with Lenovos and have seen it myself on our models T60 and T61. There is no way to "revive" them AFAIK.

Here, we have some companies that supply laptop batteries at a discounted price. I have seen some of those used as replacements and still fail again after a year or so. There are lots of battery suppliers on the internet as well.

If you got one from Lenovo it probably would not have the fault that yours has now, whereas those sold by a discount supplier might still have the fault. You might pay less, but run the risk of the same problem happening again.

There's a big advantage buying a battery from the comp manufacturer. You may pay more for it but it may be worth the extra dollars. There are plenty of discount battery sites. But you have no way of knowing just how long that battery was sitting on a shelf nor do you know how & where it was stored. (could be stored in someone's hot garage)

The discount vattery sites have a short warranty period whereas if purchase from the manufacturer the warranty may be longer, so if the battery fails after 8 months the manufacturer is more likely to replace it.
