Iwas recently playing a game on my PC when suddenly I lost all visual display. After turning of and re-booting the PC would display various (normal) snapshots of the screen during the boot proccess. Once it had stopped loading, I turned the monitor off and then back on. I got a flash of a normal screen and then it disappeared again. With a lot of patience, I can power the monitor off and on and carry on as normal. Naturally, I'm finding this highly unsatisfactory.

I have consulted several "experts" all of which seem to have a different opinion, the video card, the monitor, XP. Are you able to offer some suggestions?

The only way of isolating the source of the problem of this nature is by substitution - from your post it would seem to be hardware related.

My first step would be to substitute the monitor or to try the monitor on another computer.
