    Dear all,

    My sister (who lives abroad) got a new Toshiba laptop;
    When the internet cable is connected, her latpop restarts automatically after shutting down (she shuts it down, it shut down then restart automactically); When she takes off the internet cable, it shut downs normally.

    Please advise.

    Thank you

    That's because Windows is having troubles unloading a TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) or other driver. Probably the NIC driver, or something related to it. You could try to reinstall the driver to see if that helps.

    Those things are insanely difficult to diagnose. You could check the usual suspects, such as infection, related software such as antivirus, etc.

    Perhaps looking in the BIOS for Wake On Lan (WOL). Just a suggestion but maybe you're sister is being hit with "Magic Packets "
