feel like I see a somewhat longer support life for Win98/WinME , but in any event this is the latest info from MS.

P.S. I could not figure out which forum this really should be in.
    Hope some one sees it.:)

Well, someone did see it and thanks.

I know we have a strict policy against posting the same stuff two places but I plan to put a copy of this in General Discussions as well as Other Software.

I read the other day that W2K will be supported till 2010. But SP4 will be the last service pack for W2K. A security update including all security updates since the release of SP4 will be released probably mid 2005, including a few minor OS updates. But MS won't be calling it SP5. A full service pack requires far more testing than security rollouts. 5 or 6 years till EOL without a service pack is a long time though!
I guess that gives MS more ammo to push people to upgrade to XP and then in 2006 Longhorn. Maybe Longhorn will be called Windows MXP? (More eXPerience :D )
