I have Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6.0 on my computer. Is 6.0 the latest edition of Internet Explorer? Thank you.

    abx--A definite... maybe!.
Click Help|About Internet Explorer. What do you see on the Version line and on the Update Versions line? Since IE6 was first offered, MS has come up with SP1 (Service Pack) and several patches, the most recent being a December 2002 Cumulative Patch.
If you have applied these, the Version line should have something other than 0000 in the fourth set of numbers. (Mine reads 6.0.2800.1106, but I run Win98 and I do not know whether you get the same version number if you have XP.) On the Update versions line mine says SP1 and then several Q numbers referring to the MSKB articles describing the various patches.
The easiest way to get all of this should be by using Windows Update (assuming this is offered by XP). As you know Windows Update analyzes what Packs and patches you need and then offers them to you. If offered, do the SP1 update first, then the latest (December 2002) Cumulative Patch. Then the other patches that do not seem covered by the latest Cumulative Patch. You should not have to install earlier "Cumulative Updates ", since their patches are included in the latest.
If you do not have Windows Update, you can look for all this here

I just got a new computer with XP and I had to update to SP1 already. Strange. This was a custom ordered pc and they STILL don't have all the up to date stuff on it. Anyway, my version is the .1108, too.

And, yes, XP offers Windows Update.

Just thought you all would like to know.

    :)
