Resolved Laser Printer Toner Cartridges.

Hi guys,

I've just been gifted a colour laser printer but it is low on toner .

Replacement toner costs around £200 which I'm willing to buy but my home printing needs are very low. Anyway my question is do these things have a time lifespan? With the capacity I'd expect them to last me 5+ years but if they're going to dry out in a year or so it wouldn't be worth my while.

You can probably tell I've not had a lot of experience with laser printers

The question's fairly generic but just in case the printer is a Samsung CLP-500

I've just done the math and if the cartridges work for around 3 years it won't cost me anymore than the Inkjets. Worth a gamble for the superior quality.
