    Hi guys,

I've just been gifted a colour laser printer :) but it is low on toner :(.

Replacement toner costs around £200 which I'm willing to buy but my home printing needs are very low. Anyway my question is do these things have a time lifespan? With the capacity I'd expect them to last me 5+ years but if they're going to dry out in a year or so it wouldn't be worth my while.

You can probably tell I've not had a lot of experience with laser printers

The question's fairly generic but just in case the printer is a Samsung CLP-500

My B&W toner cartridge uses DRY toner and it at elast six years old. It still prints fine when needed.

    Thanks Steve,

I've just done the math and if the cartridges work for around 3 years it won't cost me anymore than the Inkjets. Worth a gamble for the superior quality.
