I have a Dell Latitude c600. When I plug the adapter into the laptop the green light goes dim then off. The laptop will not power up. If I just plug the adapter into the wall before I plug it into the laptop I get a nice bright green light from the adapter. Please Help.

My best guess is that your battery - or some internal power connection has failed. Try reseating the battery.

If you simply plug the adaptor into the wall the green light will come on - just checked this out - so I doubt that the problem lies there.

Try running with battery removed, with only the adapter (if manual says it's ok). If it runs ok, suggest have battery checked.
