Freezes all the time include on safe mode. No blue screen, just freezes at last pages as u using.

1st boot, confirm freezes before at boot up to win98
2nd boot, normally can see win98. no extra software ( already format alot of time) wait for 10 min to 2 hrs. it will freeze anytime there want.

3rd boot, confirm freezes before boot up to win98 and won't able to boot to win98 until rest for 1 hr.

    what happening?

    Hi

That might suggest a temperature problem.

At startup go into the BIOS/CMOS settings. There should be a menu there that has temperature readouts (it's easier to check in the manual/User Guide first to find which section it is under). Check the temperature when it has started "cold ", check again after it has "frozen ".

Get Everest (in my signature), there are temperature readouts under Computer -> Sensor.

Check that the air intakes are not blocked with dust (there may be information in the manual). If they seem blocked, loosen the dust with a soft brush and vacuum the dust out.

A cooling fan may be failing or has already failed.

Check in Device Manager that there are no problems listed.

There will be a webpage for the laptop's model at the manufacturer's website. Look for updated drivers.

Open the access covers on the bottom of the machine. Pull and reseat any connections that are accessible (I am thinking mainly of the RAM module/s) .

    Matt
