    HI
I have a question about laptop batteries. Mine don't seem to last long.
I am using a Dell laptop and my battery is a
    E1505 BATTERY HIGH CAPACITY 9cel.
anyone have any tips for it lasting longer?
I try to allow it to charge and discharge frequently.
Most of the time though I am using my laptop with AC current.
I have it on all day but turn it off every night.
I read something somewhere that it is possible to charge the battery too much and wear it down more quickly.
Am I charging it too much by using the laptop all the time with AC?
does the recharging turn off when it is fully charged even though I still have it plugged in?
    thanks for any answers
    B

To make it 'last longer' while on battery power consider:

    • Turning down the screen brightness
    • Turning off the wireless adapter (when not in use)

Exactly how long is "don't last too long" ?
Those 9 cell batteries should last approx 3-4 hours. The upgraded Dell 9 cell can last up to 6 hrs. My 6 cell batery lasts 1 hr 10 min when using wifi.

It doesn't hurt to re-calibrate the battery from time to time. There should be an option in the bios to do that.
