I am trying to install my real authentic Win 95 on an older Aptiva that has 16 mb of ram.
Previously the machine was running Win 3.1 (horrors)
I am using the "Microsoft Windowss 95 - CD-ROM Setup Boot Disk) that came with the Win 95 CD Disk.
the machine starts, reformats, has asked me the language- I have specified either US English or British English or even the first choice on the list of foreign languages.
the machin will tell me that the CD disk does not match the language chosen. Other than physically going through the whole list of languages ....
I have tried the Universal boot disk and orther original Win 95 CDS to the same result.
    Any ideas ? :(

It could be a CD for use overseas. I'd suggest putting the CD into a working box (hold the Shift key to prevent autostart), and then explore the CD to look for text files such as README.TXT or LICENSE.TXT. They should be in the default language for the CD.
