I have a freind here at the local catholic mission, and he has brought a laptop with him from Germany. The problem is that nobody else here can speak German. Can the language be changed , or does XP have to be reinstalled with an english version. Many thanks.

As I see it you need to reinstall an English version of XP.

MS produce a Multilingual User Interface Pack, but it would appear that this is based on the English version of the OS which must be loaded first.

In other words if you have the English version installed the interface (GUI) can be changed to German, but not vice versa.
