Hi all, - a simple question for you LAN experts.
I have 2 Athlon Thunderbirds, both with Win98SE.
    I call them A1 and A2.
They are cabled together with Realtek cards and work fine.
    The question is ...
If I select from A1 Windows Explorer, the A2 PC using Network Neighbourhood, do I have the A2 registry loaded or the A1 registry loaded ?
    regards

You have the registry from the originating machine (A1 in your example).

An easy way to confirm this is have only notepad as a text editor/handler on A1 and a notepad replacement like notetab or something on A2.

When you connect from A1 and open a text file, it will open with notepad since that's the installed app there.
