The intrinsic driver for the Panasonic KX-P1124i printer driver in the Windows XP did not work properly. I therefore installed the KX-P1091i which did work, but the tractor set up was awkward for my checks. I re-installed the 1124i, which printed a good test page, but now uses the 1091i font for the checks, even though I deleted the 1091i printer. How do I get my XP to work properly with the 1124i printer?

    Hi LindaS

Does the check writing program your using have a option to choose font's? Does your current font file (see control panel / fonts) contain the font you would like to use? Can you print out a "Word" doc. using the required font correctly? With the correct driver, XP may limit some printer function options, but not fonts.

    pesky printer driver

    Hi, Dennis L
Again, thank you for your reply.
The computer insists that I use the printer (KX-P1091i) built-in fonts, even though I deleted that printer driver and installed (twice, deleting and re-installing) the XP-intrinsic KX-P1124i driver.
The test page printed out using the computer font and looked fine. I am able to change fonts in WORD with no problem. When I first installed the KX-P1124i driver, it printed horizontal spaces inside the graphics and chopped the top off the regular print. Now the computer acts as if I never deleted the old driver, but only for printing checks.
By the way, I am using the power cord from the older printer for the newer printer.

    Hi LindaS

I don't feel this is a computer/driver issue.... at least not directly. You can "Choose" a font and print correctly from "Word ". You can not choose a font and print correctly to "Checks ". It appears there is a "program call" from the check writing program that is asking for the (KX-P1091i) built-in fonts. Does the check writing program allow you to select printer models?
