Every so often my NIC card (3C905-TX) stops working until I shut the system down completely, re-boot doesn't help. Is there any way to "Kick-start" the card without shutting down? Win 2K Pro.

Try start~run~ipconfig /renew and see if that does it for you.

Also take a look in your event logs. There may be an error or warning there that points to the cause of the problem.

You might want to consider a newer network card.

If not, I'd suggest removing the card from device manager, shutting down and removing the NIC, starting back up and then shutting down again, and putting the NIC back in so you can reinstall it.

Good idea while you have it out to take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts on the card.
