    Hi,
Hope someone can help. I am running WIN98SE and on boot-up I get a message immediately after RAM check "keyboard error" press F1 to continue. Unfortunately there is not keyboard control at all unless I unplug the PS2 and replug in, then I boot-up as normal. I have a Cherry Cybo@rg keyboard and have downloaded the latest drivers.

    Any constructive suggestions???

    regards Paul

An error with the keyboard can be caused by any of the following possibilities.

    Keyboard is not connected properly.
    Stuck key
    Bad keyboard
    Bad PS/2 or AT port

You check the connection when you disconnect and then reconnect and it continues to happen so I'm assuming that isn't the problem. Or maybe it is...do you have a cat, dog or child that could be bumping the box or connection between sessions? If so it could still be a loose connection.

Check all of the keys to be sure none are sticking.

Get another keyboard and try it. If that solves the problem the keyboard is probably bad.

If none of the above helps the problem is probably in the PS/2 or AT port. If that is the case internal hardware repairs will probably be required.

    Good luck...
