I have a Dell Latitude CPiR with W2K installed. When I try to enter standby mode I get an error message saying: "The device driver for the 'Standard 101/102-key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 keyboard' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update the driver. "
Until about a week ago this function worked perfectly. I don't recall any software changes except for a virus which I removed. I reinstalled the driver with no results. I have searched the forums and have found nothing pertaining to this particular issue.
I am always on the go and this function save me a lot of time.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Hammer

Have you tried removing the Keyboard from the device manager and let windows redetect and install it?
You could try updating to the latest MS keyboard software, Intellitype v5.0, assuming your Dell PC is using a MS Keyboard? (or compatible)

    Thanks Paul,
I have tried removing it with device manager. It states I must restart for changes to take effect. Upon startup the keyboard is immediately reinstalled. I looked up the intellitype software and my understanding is that it's for Mac O/S. Am I wrong here? Thanks
