Likely a regional issue if this is the only problem.

What windows version, what country are you in and what row is your Z and Q keys at (only count the 3 letter rows eg here in the UK/US we use QWERTY on the top but some east european countries have other ideas).

EDIT: Sorry just seen India as your country, what keyboard layout does your laptop have, and what layout does the OS think it has ;)

I'm guessing Eraser's physical keyboard layout is also standard QWERTY?
    • ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/globalization/keyboards/KBD480.pdf
The .PDF file displays the following information followed by a diagram of a QWERTY keyboard.

EDIT: Eraser, in addition to answering wildfire's questions above, please answer the following questions as well.
    1. Do other keys produce incorrect letters/numbers?
    2. If yes, then which keys produce which letters/numbers?
    3. What brand AND model number is the laptop?
    4. How old is the laptop? (Has it been used much?)
    5. Have any liquids ever been spilled on the keyboard?
    6. Has the laptop ever been dropped?

I do not claim to be experienced with this sort of problem. I'm just fishing for more details which might help us solve your problem. :)
