Firefox is disabling SSL3, and I had to install an extension in order to disable that disabling, and log into a known good site.

The extension lets me allow SSL3, either temporarily or permanently.

I'm not sure why FF would go to the trouble of disabling a protocol unless it was a good feature to have disabled. But if all I do is log into known good sites, what is the point of having it disabled at all? I only log into financial sites via bookmarks, or forums.

What would keeping SSL3 permanently disabled, do for me?
