    Hi
I keep losing my modem and I don't know why.

I have a Rockwell interal modem and I'm on dial-up I get a message "Can not detect modem" I then have to go into add/remove programs remove Rockwell and then shut down and restart my computer. It then sometimes detects new hard ware and sometimes it doesn't. I have gotten it back by the "Add new hard ware" in "control panel" but sometimes this doesn't work either.
Is there a way to back up all drivers and modem to my desk top so I can just run a set up from there when this happens?
    Is my modem going out?

I don't know what the problem is and why it keeps doing this.

    Thanks
    Geri

First, I would try to put your modem into a different slot.

You mean in my Computer? Because it will only work in the COM 2 port. COM 1 is no modem port.
Give me a little detail here, I'm a little lost when it comes to this stuff.
    Thanks

    No, no...
You have to open a case, find your modem there, remove it physically, and put it into a different slot.

Before you change the slots, restart in dos mode and try this command at the prompt. Then shut off computer and change the slots.
    scanreg /fix
