this problem started yesterday.this is driving me crazy. when i press any button on my keyboard i get bluesceen of dead. i have unistalled the program that made my computer crash,it was Kaspersky Anti-Virus but that didnt help at all. ihave used so many anti virus programs to try and fix this problem, but non of them helped. i've used malwarebytes, advanced systemcare, reg clean and so on. i'm writing this with my mouse, so sorry if the text looks weird. i've posted the minidump on this site http://www.w7forums.com/threads/kbdclass-sys-bsod.19799/

Hi marcusdk, Welcome to WindowsBBS.:) Have you tried running sfc /scannow?
Start > Run > type CMD > Right click cmd.exe > Run as Administator > sfc /scannow > Enter and let it run. Neil.

Hello. I tried that and it says it didn't find any errors...

can it be because i'm doing it in safe mode? well, i can't do it in normal windows, because i can't hit enter in cmd, because then my computer will crash.

No - System File Checker works fine in Safe Mode. AFAIK kbdclass.sys is not a Windows System file so SFC will not check it.

There are several options open to you .....

If you are using a keyboard with specialist keyboard software uninstall it and try the default driver which Windows will load on reboot and see if this fixes your issue.

    Try another keyboard.

Please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions!

That is because all you have filled in/checked is 32bit. Please follow the instructions in Post #4.

Are you using a USB keyboard? If so it would be worthwhile uninstalling all USB controllers and Root hubs through Device Manager and rebooting to allow Windows to reinstall them.

If you have a PS/2 keyboard and a PS/2 socket on the back of the computer that is another combination to try.

Even though kbdclass.sys may not be a Windows file if you have a System Restore Point before the issue arose it would be worth restoring the PC to that point in time.

It would also help if you can debug your dump file - this is not something that we do - following the instructions here and post the log.

    That's very disappointing :( ......

Let's try troubleshooting from a different angle - in the following order ....

    1. Plug the keyboard into a different USB port - test. If the issue is resolved there is a problem with the USB port.

    2. Unplug all other USB peripherals except mouse and keyboard - test. If the issue is resolved there is a problem with another connected USB device.

    3. If the problem remains - from your post #3 the keyboard works in Safe Mode - yes? - start the computer in a Clean Boot state following the instructions from MS here Aftre restarting the computer see if the problem is resolved. If it is re-enable the non-Microsoft services one at a time, rebooting each time until the problem returns. The last service enabled is the culprit - let us know what it is.

In the meantime it would be helpful if you debug the dump file and post the log.

    Couple of points .....

    I have approved the post.

Please read my post #6 - it is up to you to debug the dump file and post the results here.
