    My Kazaa has really slowed down over the past couple of days.

    I thought I might have a program that was taking up a lot of internet bandwidth so ran AdAware and found one data mining piece of software that I wiped.

    I then ran all those Norton Diagnosis programs and everything checked out.

    Any idea what may be causing this?

    Everything else seems to be working fine, which leads me to think it might be a problem Kazaa is having.

    p2p and other stuff

    You don't mention whether you have high speed or dial up; but try out these things;

    www.bluehavenmedia.com and download KaZooM;

    KaZaA carries spyware with it, check out - www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p;
    although they don't particularly like KaZaA Lite, I do (no spyware)

    Yes, I use Kazaalite and I am on cable.

    where I used to download at about five to twenty kb/s, I am now reduced to less than one kb per second.

    1-5 k-bytes!--its usually slower than my old 56k!-i downloaded kazoom but that dosn't seem to help---any suggestions?

    Speeds have gotten much better-- downloads go up to 80kbs and if it stays at a slow speed I just download the same file from another location-- there must have been some recent bug that was fixed--

    If you download Kazoom, watch out for ads, spies, etc...

    Scan your system for pests and spies after installing. I had 5 or 6.

    I don't see that it does much in the way of speed up.

    A lot of the sites you're downloading from are limiting their upload bandwidth. That might be part of what you're seeing.

    If you download off Kazaa you have no way of seeing if the person you're downloading from is on a dialup or broadband connection. If you end up with a dialup user, it won't matter if you're on a T3 connection. The rule of the Internet is it's only as fast as its slowest computer.
