Mozilla 1.7.3. I can't seem to get the Junk filter to work. I have set about 10 different emails as Junk (clicked on the Junk icon) and nothing happened to them. The Junk controls are on and I have checked to move the emails to the Junk folder when I call an email Junk and select the Junk icon.
I have also set the message filter to get the Junk in my email account. There has been no entries in the Junk log and Mozilla hasn't made a Junk folder so I made the folder. The message folder last worked to remove Junk on April 4, 2005. What can I do to correct this problem?

I am not sure that I understand this part.
" Mozilla hasn't made a Junk folder so I made the folder. " Do you mean that there never was a Junk folder? But the next sentence contradicts what you said. May be you should check your files in your Profile mail account folder. Do you have the junk and junk.msf pair of files. Delete the .msf file, with Moz closed.
I remember having had problems with 1.7.3, so when I installed 1.7.5, I uninstalled 1.7.3 first, and also created a new profile, which I am still using now with 1.7.7. My problem was that messages would not be deleted after the predetermined, in 1.7.3. The simple solution, and I had to use that, at one time, when I had all sort of problems with Junk Controls. I just removed the account, and then added back, with the same settings. It is easy to get the old mail, by either copy/paste from old to new, the Inbox, and Sent files, or renaming the old Inbox, and then copy/paste. I use the renamed mail as archives. This is just in genenral, and if you don't understand any of the steps, please ask.

May be there is something to Mozilla Junk mail controls problems.
I receive almost 85% of my Spam at one account. Account#2 gets only one e-mail which I call spam/junk, and the e-mail is handled by my Filter, but it is viewable in the junklog.html file at browser. Finally another account gets the rest of the junk. The junklog window was very small, maybe one inch high, but, after dragging down by the bottom, I started seeing the Junklog message.
So, if this is happened to junk get hold of the bottom of the junklog window, and drag it down. It was all gray before, but now I see plenty of white.
Make sure that you compact the Junk folder, in fact all folders. Then, try again. If no go try to delete the junk.msf file.
But, you may have more success by removing the account first, and the Adding it from the Mail and News Wizard. Essentially starting from scratch.
But, I understand your problems, because I have had more problems with Mozilla Junk controls than anything else. But, it is working flawlessly for me now, and I corrected the only problem I had thanks to you. So, good luck!
