JPG filenames that I view and save using my newsgroup software (XNews) are showing up in my browser (Internet Explorer) history. I don't know if I unknowingly changed a setting or what, but it has never occured before. Does anybody have any ideas how I might be able to stop this? I only want web pages that I view to be displayed in my internet browser history.

    TIA

Not familiar with the Xnews program and IE is not my default browser.
When Xnews finds a jpg file via a search, do you click on it and jpg is displayed in IE. If this is occurring, it would be leaving a trail in IE history and possible IE cache and Temporary Internet files. Their could be a setting in Xnews and or IE to open "image" files via an external program. I would suggest Irfanview, a very nice image viewer. This should eliminate any history trails in IE when viewing .jpg's.
