I was having Netscape problems and someone suggested the following:
I followed these instructions and now, not only does Netscape still not work at all, IE6 will not respond to many of the links I click on. I can't even use the Windows Update site. When I click on "Scan for Updates ", it just sits there and doesn't do anything at all.

I went to download.com and downloaded and installed Sun Java 2 Runtime Environment; but, this doesn't help. I don't care about Netscape; I've removed it altogether. I just want my IE6 working correctly again.

    Any suggestions?
