I am using Windows XP pro and get this message when accessing various web sites.

Your browser is not Java capable or Java has been disabled.

I looked and cannot find a place where I can turn this feature on or off. Maybe it is a feature that is not available. This results in me getting the broken page/link indicator.
This has never happened to me when using Windows 95, 98, 98se, or me.
    Any help will be appreciated.

Tony, I cannot find the listing "enable JIT Complier for Virtual Machine" in my list. I have checked it several times. I followed your directions to and selected the advanced option which I am familiar with.

    Thank you for your effort.

:) Kevin, thank you for your advice. You stated to do this:

Download and install Microsoft Virtual Machine for Internet Explorer
    (Build 3805, released 3/4/02)

It worked to perfection--took care of the problem. I had done a complete installation of Windows XP Pro which of course included a reformatting of my hard drive. My son Rick did not have this problem. He did an upgrade install of Windows XP Pro from Windows me. Is it possible that he had Virtual Machine for Internet Explorer remaining on his computer from Windows me? Is my theory correct? If not could you inject your theory? Again thanks for the valuable information.
