I have a mysterious software installed in my computer that blocks ads. I don't even know it's name. I just see a replacement text or image in the place of a blocked ad that reads "This ad zapped ".

What's annoying is that I don't know how it got installed. Regardless to say, I don't know how to uninstall it either. I can't find anything suspicious in the "Add-Remove Programs" and even ad-aware draws a blank.

This happens in both IE and Netscape. I use Windows XP Pro SP1.

" "NOTE: This service is only available to A-Street access customers. A-Street Web site hosting and Email only customers do not have access to the Caching server from other parts of the internet." "

Are you an A-street customer ?

"If you *want* to see the ads you can turn off both web page acceleration and ad zapping by not using the web proxy." "

If you didnt install this I would check "never dial a connection and remove astreet,, and also install and update/scan with spybot
Most of us use both adware and spybot.

Thanks, I'm not an A-street customer, however I am on a connection that uses a LAN. I suppose my gateway server has this ad-blocking software installed. I will ask the admin.
