Mods said to make a new thread for different topics, so here it is. I tried to update my iTunes today to a newer version. It downloaded, then said "error 1719 the windows installer service cannot be accessed. this can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not installed correctly." Any ideas on how to fix this so i can update my version of itunes? thanks guys

I guess you are looking for msiexec.exe - it should be in this location ....

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe

Navigate directly to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and check if it is there. If is not run System File Checker ....

Start > Run > Type in sfc /scannow > OK - note the space before the forward slash and have your XP installation CD handy as you may be asked for it.

SFC will exit without any closing dialogue - when it has completed search again for the file msiexec.exe - if it was missing it should have been replaced.
