Hello All...(not sure if this post is in the right section)

I set up 4 cctv cameras and a dvr box.
I can view my cameras over the internet using the supplied software and using internet explorer with active x enabled. All ports forwarded and everything works fine. Sweet..

My problems start when I try to connect with my itouch, I use cplayer (free from app store) to connect. When I try to connect via my LAN the itouch says connecting...buffering..100% then a blank, black screen or sometimes exits the application.
I get a connecting... message when I try to connect from outside my LAN but no further.
I have connected to another camera & dvr using the itouch and said software..this is what has me so frustrated as this proves the software works.. So it's possible a set-up issue????

    I'm using a unbranded H.264 dvr with 4 cameras.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Cheers

    Whacker.

It appears to be an iTouch app problem. Check the apps support site.

To view the video stream in any computer, phone or device, the system must support the streaming codec that the cameras/dvr system use. Different dvr systems use different codecs.

While H.264 is a standard, there are multiple ways of using it, i.e. different containers can be used to stream it.

Yeah Tony, how right you are....it was the app that was causing the problem...I ended up using a different app that worked...mind you I had to pay for it!!! €7.99 worth it in the end.

    Thanks for you Help
