Windows Vista Issues with DEP closing/not allowing programs to open

    I've had issues with this over the past few weeks. I posted a thread in the Malware/Virus section as I believed that the DEP was causing closure due to malware (When I would shut off the DEP through the BIOS section, I still would get closure due to DEP).

    The administrator told me to open a new thread here since malware apparently isn't the issue. I am still running into the DEP closing systems. I cannot update my Java, and I am getting HPWAModule disruption at startup. I've tried disabling/allowing certain programs through the Advanced System tab, as well as disabling DEP through the BIOS. Still getting blocked.

    Can't offer much, but my thoughts:

    1. Need to see some information that shows DEP is causing an error.

    2. Replace AVG with a decent program. I'd recommend Microsoft Security Essentials

    3. Stop using P2P software.
