    Hi All,
My system got corrupted for some reason, I can see all my programs in Start -> All Programs and can’t run restore it tells me to reboot PC to be able to run restore but each time I reboot I’m still getting same error, so I decide to run repair from CD by when it run check for current Windows installation it can’t detect my Windows so not sure what can I do next.
Due to corruption I can’t run a backup so I’m a bit worry of loosing data.
    Cheers

jpolt - Welcome to the Board :)

Depending on the nature of the corruption a System Restore may not necessarily work, but here is method of running it from the command prompt. This assumes that you have a full XP install CD - not a Recovery CD......

How to start the System Restore tool at a command prompt in Windows XP

If that does not help you read this KB article .....
