I am looking for an ISP that is not web-based like MSN or AOL and doesn't have a bunch of pop ups. I don't care about home pages, etc. I just want one that is reliable that will be compatible with Outlook Express.

Don't know where you're located, but I use Highstream . Works with OE, and you can also check your mail from any internet connection. No popups, no software to download. If you don't want them, try searching here.

I am in Michigan. I searched for ISP providers & don't recall seeing them, but referrals are always good. I don't like trying something cold turkey.

On their website, lots of numbers for Michigan, don't know if one is a local call for you. I have been with them over 2yrs, I just have the premium dialup with no features. I get zero spam with them, my plan is 300minutes, $8.49. Guess they went up .50. Fine print states, over 5hrs connection, they disconnect you. Regardless if your active or not. I would recommend them.

Why would you want to pay over $8 for 300 minutes of internet services?

I use Netzero Platinum..it's $9.95 per month for unlimited access. It's a small download and there are no ads, except for on the dialup process.

Thanks for the referrals. I went home last night and uninstalled the Peoplepc that I was trying for a free trial. Now I'm having trouble getting back online with MSN so that I can try something different. I guess what will help me make my decision is the one with the most access numbers and good rating. I don't want a bunch of pop ups, etc. Spam blocker is good. I will post back.
