    Hello everyone!

I need to get a larger HD. I've only got an 18GB and lots of users wanting to keep games and things. I've been watching the sales and reading different posts about different makes and models, but price is essential to me (see my profile, you'll know why). Yet I don't want a junk drive just because it's cheap! Anyway, Circuit City has this one for 6 hous tomorrow. Should I jump on it? ANY input on this will be appreciated! :)

    Hi noahdfear

Winchester HD's have always treated me great. Currently have a 120 GB. / 7200, nice and fast. My old w95 system, has a Winchester 6 GB that's 6 plus years old.. has never burped. On sale price, local purchase / major store (check return allowances / rules)... sounds like a deal to me. Only wish I was looking for more storage. This is what my zip code / locale store showed for the hard drive on sale, I assume it's the one your looking at. Hopefully someone that has experience with this drive model will chime in.

I have 2 80GB versions of this (JB) model, and 2 120GB drives. I'm happy with them!

I have had good experience with Western Digital Hard drives, but never had one so BIG. If there were a Circuit City within 50 miles of here, I would jump on that deal in a New York Minute.

Thanks to all! Good enough for me........I'm off to Circuit City :D

Daddad, thanks for the link. Although some have had problems, those who did get a replacement got it quickly and everyone seemed to have high praise for the ones working properly. Didn't see anyone say they were just 'OK' drives. It was either 'the best' or 'the worst'. I'm gonna take a shot.

Johanna and Arie........your recommendations, as well as BillyBobs in the poll, put me over the top.

Gotta go! Only 2 hrs left on the sale.

Best of luck to you Guy :)
Mind you, I in NO WAY intended to bad mouth Western Digital HDD's
I just wanted to show the flip side of the coin.
You will notice I use the same one Arie uses :D
It's fast, quiet and runs cool here in my Antec box.
    Couldn't be happier.

Oh, just for info, my drives are running in Mobile Dock's PMD-96I, which have cooling fans incorporated.
