Hello. (I was using Windows XP SP3- ie 7 now I guess- I just re-checked) Anyway, I'm getting the important updates notification regarding the .net framework that's come out recently. I did a small amount of reading about it on the microsoft site. It seems to be for developers...? I'm thinking I might have downloaded the .net framework at one time without fully knowing what it was- as I'm not a developer and mainly use my computer for study and games. So I'm wondering if I can just go to add/remove programs and delete it? Because I'm pretty sure it didn't come with my computer I don't need it do I? Thank you. (I looked for help at the microsoft site but tech support seems to be a billable service :( So I appreciate ay suggestions anyone might have for me)

Hi lydianon. Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

Read this, What is .Net Framework.

Some Windows applications do require it such as drivers and some games. I would leave it installed otherwise you may find that some of your programs won't function properly.

Your Welcome. Yes I would install any updates for .net framework that are available. I have .net framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 installed on my system and I haven't had any problems with anything.
