Resolved [Is Microsoft Office 95 compatible with Windows 7?]

    My wife just purchased a new computer using windows 7. I was going to install office 95 na d then upgrade to office 2000.

    During the install of windows office 95 I got a error telling me that windows could not generate a file called "system.mdw" and I was instructed to run workgroup adm after the installation of the program.

    Problem is it is stuck in the installation process and not responding to the install.

    Can I install office 95 on windows 7?

    I doubt it. Been a while since I tried it but I remember having trouble getting Outlook 2000 to running correctly. Gave up and installed Microsoft Office 2003 Small Business. Worked great.

    No doubt at all, Office 95 nor Office 2000 is compatible with Windows 7.

    Aw man! Bet that means we might also have some trouble then with other Microsoft products from that era? ... such as Microsoft Bob? :D

    I figured it wasnt. I installed Open Office by Sun Microsystems.
