Is Kazza safe to have on my computer. My kids have downloaded but I have heard that it really opens up your computer. Is this true? What can I do to protect my computer? Is there any other program such as Kazza that is safe?

    Thanks.

    Hi Anne,
Kazaalite is the version you want that comes without the spyware.

Anne - if you want to read another discussion we recently had re: Kazza, take a look Here.

The bottom line is as Daizy said though - get the lite version and you have the important features without the spyware.

And speaking of sypware, if you don't already have a checker/remover, try Ad-aware. Load and run it and you will probably be amazed at the amount of stuff you have right now that sends information about you out to various locations on the net.

Should I uninstall Kazza and then download Kazzalite? Or just download Kazzalite.

What happens to the songs that have already been downloaded? Will they automatically be transferred to Kazzalite - do I need to do anything.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Hi Anne
The songs are on your computer..not on the program. So my answer would be yes....uninstall Kazaa. For good measure....run Ad-aware right after the uninstall.....then put Kazaalite on?

Thank you all for your replies.

I have followed all your recommendations and hopefully everything will be okay.

The Ad-Aware program found 139 files so it must of done a great clean-up.

    Thanks again.
