Hi, I need some advice here, I just did a scan with "Xoft Spy" and it found one file Adware Media Motor High Danger C:\WINDOWS\unstall.exe
I did a search for this file and I did find it, it was created 5/08/1998 and is 141 kb.
Is it save for me to delete this file. Or do I need to make some backup of it.
    Thanks
    Hawk22

    hawk22, Hello again :)

Definitely not required - typically viruses, spyware, adware and "resource hogs ", so use one of these products that detect/remove/protect against these variants:

    X-Cleaner
    RegBlock
    Ad-Aware

  3. to hide this advert.

Hi there Irdreed, and how's things in your part of the World.
Thanks Irdreed, I saved the file to disk and then deleted it. I am using "a square "
for my spyware and adware but it did not detect this file only the scan I did on
Xoft Spy that detected that file, so I might send it to asquare and ask why.
    cheers and good health

    hawk22,
Is this the site you are refering to??:
    http://onlinecheck.emsisoft.com/en/
I did some further checking and I found that this is only an "On line Check" and I believe only for Trojans, that is if I read this right. I hope you have some other security programs installed on your PC like I mentioned in my previous post.
Better yet look here for selection of recommended security items. They're under the heading "Security ", and these items are recommended by the experts of this forum.
