    Short answer: no.

In 99.9% of laptops the graphics card is soldered on the motherboard.

That's a fairly new high end lappy. Odds are it'll do well for a couple more years... Why not wait to see what happens after that;) Maybe going to lower setting won't be so bad...

    several points
    1) often video cards are held back by software for reasons of what is mainstream at that point in time
hence upgrade the driver in the future and net framework from Microsoft as well
    2) Acer is a low end company with next to no support
check on the acer European websites for drivers and updated drivers
Often they are not there on the us site
Acer Europe seems to be a premium product - or more premium in that marketplace
    3) A bios update in the future may afford you to allocate more ram to the video card
as ram comes down in price and more is affordable
be careful though that you follow directions on the bios update or you will have a boat anchor for a computer
Read the information about the bios updates to see if they offer this provision to you and if its worth the risk to update
4)It goes yet again to show how stupid a laptop is as a first computer
did you not realize that the video card would not be upgradeable when you bought this unit for gaming ?

I don't see where they said it was their first computer.

    They did not
Yet from the fact that the poster is most concerned about gaming with this computer this can lead me to summary that this is their main computer because if gaming is so vital and important to his / her life they would simply use the non-laptop computer
Many people buy laptops now ( or even tablets) as their main computer
Women like them as they "are cute "
Laptops are slow , expensive , proprietary, usually hard to fix if not for most people not worth fixing
and no fun to work on compared to a regular old style desktop computer

visionof, I don't see what you are adding to this thread other than clouding the issue for others:confused:
